I recently met a dear friend…we’ve known each other since our Jr. High days…in Murfreesboro and we had lunch at Mimi’s Café, which is a great place to eat…the muffins are HUGE. I’m sorry that I didn’t get a picture of it!

Pat Summitt
We had the opportunity to attend the United Way kick-off luncheon where Pat Summitt was the key-note speaker. It's always good to see her and listen to what she had to say about United Way and the upcoming basketball season.

Good Bye and Happy Birthday
It is so hard to believe that Payne is 13 years old today...it seems like only yesterday that I was in the delivery room when he was born. On second thought, I think that his mother should still be 13 not her son. Are Mike and I really old enough to have such a mature, good-looking, thoughtful, competitive, adventurous and fun to be around grandson?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAYNE
It has been a delightful 7 days with Payne visiting us, but it was time for him to go home, so he and his family can take a family vacation before school starts.

We we got to the airport in Nashville, his dad met us after being at a Cotton Council meeting in the city. They got to fly home together.
Last Full Day
Payne and Tripp had a rousing game of baseball on the Wii...
We had lunch at CiCis, Tripp napped, and Payne and I went shopping.
Payne wanted to go to Logan's for his birthday, which is tomorrow, dinner and the camera was left at home so no picture of him standing on the chair being honored. He was a little bummed that there was no free cake!!
We came home to a basketball game...
and then presents...
It was time for a final group shot.

2 Leave and 1 Stays
Evan and Rebecca left today for CA and Payne stays for another couple of days.
The blogger will not let me upload any pictures now, so I'll try again tomorrow.
Rheagan had to go to school for a couple of hours and then we picked her up and and then picked up Tripp from the babysitter. Payne mowed the lawn while Tripp marched to his own flute!
Later we went to the river for a fun few hours.

After breakfast on Monday we went to Athens to visit the Mayfield Dairy for a tour of the facilities and have some ice cream.
A final group shot.
We had the opportunity to wear these lovely hair nets.
Then the ice cream...
This evening we celebrated Rebecca and Evan's summer birthdays.

Sunday and Monday
The past 2 days have been filled with a variety of activities and as a result, by the time I get to sit down at the computer, it is late and I am tired. I will try to get something posted tomorrow.

Fun Saturday
This morning Karen and I took Rheagan and Rebecca shopping because it is Tennessee's Tax-free week end. We brought several things home for each of the children and will be taking back several things...but not as much as we brought home!
The young man was a little tired!
We came back into town and had supper at Shane's before we ended the evening with a bowling tournament.
We fixed a picnic...
