Last Day on the Road

We had breakfast at the hotel and started our day of driving to Dallas. On a road between Carlsbad and Eunice, we went 30 miles and only saw 1 vehicle! We worked our way to Andrews, TX and then on down to Odessa where we hit the interstate and hen skirted Midland. We have quite a bit of flat country…some barren and some nice grazing land.

As we drove through Stanton…between Midland and Big Spring…there were probably 100 windmills all turning and producing electricity.

We stopped in Big Spring and had lunch at the Flying W…otherwise known as Whataburger.

As we continued our travels, we pulled off the road and drove on the access road and stopped at fields that had windmills, okra leaf cotton, mesquite trees, Prickly Pear cacti and sunflowers.

We were impressed with the first windmills that we saw and since then we have seen literally many 1000s more. They are on ridges, and on the horizon every direction that we look.

After we arrived back at Jo and Duane's, we went to a locally owned brick oven pizza place and shared a wonderful salad and a Hill Country pizza. It was a great way to end a great trip.

We'll fly home on Monday and back to reality!
