Day of Chores

We started the day at I Hop for breakfast…IMG_1806

We went to Lowe’s to get replacement parts for a ceiling fan.  After taking care of that problem, Mike and J trimmed a limb that was over the sidewalk.IMG_1808

We made the obligatory trip to the cemetery and the flowers still looked OK.  Then it was a Wal Mart stop.IMG_1810

We only ate 2 meals today, so we went to a Mexican restaurant for some great food.IMG_1811

We tried to walk but the rains came along with the thunder and lightning.

More Rain

The day started with Texas waffles…IMG_1798

and rain…IMG_1801

We slowed down as we past the plant that Mike helped to build.IMG_1802

We drove to Tyler where we visited with E and had lunch and some delicious fried pies.IMG_1804

There was more rain as we drove to Lufkin.  We took J to Wendy’s for a salad and then watched the Home Run Derby on TV.IMG_1805

Great Visit

We drove in rain from Dallas to Waco…IMG_1792

We met K and D at Chuey’s for lunch and had a great visit!  Should have had the waitress take another picture, but this is better than nothing.IMG_1794

We went to the movies after driving by the farm and some houses.  I’m not sure I need to look for Oscar awards for this movie.IMG_1795

A DQ Blizzard was a healthy supper!IMG_1797

More Baseball

Late on Friday night, the team learned that they would be playing another game on Saturday.

Our morning began at the Flying W…IMG_1766

The canopies were set up and we were ready for another game!IMG_1768

When the game was over, the little family, with an addition, headed to south Texas.

Mike and I got of the 103 degree weather at the hotel for a while  before we went to to dinner and a movie.

Road Trip with Tripp

We started in Rome, GA where T and R competed in a Drive, Chip and Putt contest.  T came in first in his age division for chipping and in 3rd place overall, but lost in a scorecard play off, so he came in 4th.  We had to leave for our road trip, so we weren’t able to watch R but she won putting and was the overall winner in her age division and will advance to the next level of competition.

We stopped at Whataburger in Birmingham and the only picture that I took is on the I-pad and I don’t know how to get it from there to here!

Our stop in Mississippi was at the river…IMG_1724

We continued our drive into LA and there we stopped in West Monroe for a visit with the bearded ones, but they had left for the day!IMG_1725

IMG_1729

We spent the night in Ruston, LA and then drove to Texas the next day to see P play 2 baseball games.IMG_1734

Our friends, J and D, drove over from Heath and surprised us.  It’s true friends who will sit in 100 degree weather to watch your grandson play baseball!

On the way to the hotel, we realized just how hot it really was!IMG_1757

After a supper of delicious Mexican food,at least it tasted good to these Tn folks who don’t get authentic Mexican food, the boys enjoyed the pool and the dive-in movie…Ice Age.
