This morning we took a walk in the hills that was a different direction from yesterday and walked by a gorgeous golf course. After breakfast in the condo, we went to church. It was a small congregation but very friendly and welcoming. We ate a delicious lunch of chopped Mexican salad, stir-fried veggies, and turkey. For dessert, we had watermelon.
We drove to Silver Reef which is about 15 miles north of St. George. It was founded when silver was discovered about 1870. the silver played out in the early 1900s and the town is now essentially a ghost town. What is left of Silver Reef is old equipment, some stone building walls, and closed mine shafts.
There were 2 cemeteries at Silver Reef...Protestant and Catholic. There are many graves that date back to the early 1870s including some 60 that are marked Unknown. there are a couple of fairly recent burials in the cemetary as well. This is one of our favorites!Everywhere we went in the area, the scenery was spectular.

We drove back to St. George and HAD to stop at the In-N-Out Burger...

the menu never changes...

and the burgers are wonderful!
