This morning we walked, ate breakfast, and sat outside where this little fellow entertained us for a while along with a lizard that we couldn't get a picture of. (I know that you shouldn't end a sentence with a preposition!) After a quick trip to the outlet mall, we came back for the condo for a delicious lunch that J put together. Of course, I had to cut my corn off of the cob so I could eat it with my braces.
Then we went back to Silver Reef so we could specifically go the the museum that was open today. This is a strong box that was used on stagecoaches and trains to transport money and other valuables.
We went to the west entrance to Zion National Park which is Kolob Canyons.
We have been to Zion several times but not from this direction. The scenery is spectacular!
We walked on this trail that took us to a point where we could see as far as the North rim of the Grand Canyon. Along the way we saw this squirrel who was vigorously eating immature pine cones on the ground as well as in the tree. He, too, entertained us for a while.
A view along the way...
a self-portrait...
a silhouette...
When we got back to the parking lot, we had a picnic of snacks and then drove back to St. George. Another good day in the desert.
