Last Full Day

We squeezed 8 people into a 7-passenger van and headed to the mountains. Our first stop was at Hardee's for another round of biscuits. Then we went to see the Menonite/Amish community. We went to the farmer's market and saw so many fresh vegetables...beans, corn, watermelon, okra, potatoes, kale, cucumber, tomatoes, cantalope, squash, etc. There are no baked goods on Mondays since they don't cook or work on Sunday. We drove through several farms and saw men and boys farming with plows and horses. The women had the laundry hanging out on the clotheslines...such a gorgeous sight.
This is a picutre of horses that are on a treadmill which powers a pump to provide water for irrigation.

We left there and went to the Whitewater Center where the 1996 Olympic whitwater and kayaking events took place. The kids waded in the water; we had a snack; we took a hike in the mountains.

We came back and rested and then we went to CiCis Pizza for our Seinfield supper before Rheagan had to go to soccer camp from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A guy from Scotland is teaching and she said it was hard to understand him.

While she was gone, Evan, Payne and Rebecca played Guitar Hero and Indiana Jones on the Wii.
Watermelon was enjoyed courtesy of Becky and Libby shared some wonderul Rice Krispy treats with us.

Rheagan returned from camp and they caught lightning bugs before she headed home to sleep. Even though she was fever free today, it was best for her to get a good night's sleep.
