Wednesday, New Year's Eve

We made pancakes and cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then Mack went to play golf with Bob, a friend from TN. They played Harbour Town Golf Links. They were paired with another twosome.

The rest of us rode our bikes to Baynard Ruins.

They left for home after Mack finished played golf. Along the way, they called to say they were having trouble with the transmission. But after having some work done, they were on their way.

Mike and I ate supper at Crazy Crab where I had a baked potato and a salad and Mike had fish and chips. We came back to the condo to watch football games. Most of the teams that we picked in our family pool are losing! As of right now, Tripp is winning!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008

This morning Mike and Mack headed for the Heron course while the kids got ready to have their Christmas...make that New Year's...card pictures made. We stopped at a couple of places for Karen to take pictures...some good...some not so good.

We had PBJ sandwiches in the condo before we went for a bike ride. We came back for the kids to get into the heated pool, but that was short lived! We waited for the guys to return and then we all went for a bike ride to South Beach. Along the way we spotted an alligator who was sunning himself.

We ate at The Wreck of the Salty Dog and then rode back at dusk. We rode 13+ miles on this outing. (It is pitch dark at 6:00 p.m.) Another night of computers, games, puzzles, hot cookies, etc.

Monday, Dec. 29, 2008

This morning we divided and conquered Sea Pines! Mack and Mike played golf at the Oceans course. On a scale from 1 to 10, it was an 8. They played with 2 guys from SC and enjoyed their company. Mike enjoyed his round by having a birdie. Mack also played good.

The ladies and the children rode their bikes to South Beach...about a 35 minute ride.

After going into some of the shops, we decided to eat lunch at The Salty Dog. Forgot to take pictures of our food before we dove in, so we have nothing to show of what made our bellies so full. There were several times during our meal that it sprinkled, but by he time it was time for us to ride back, things were beginning to clear up.

After the guys got home from their round of golf, it was time to go to supper at Captain Woody's. We had fried shrimp, chicken melt, chicken fingers and cheese sticks. Again, we forgot the camera, so there are no photos.

We came back to the condo to work on a jigsaw puzzle, watch football and chill out.

Hilton Head

After a great week of Christmas with family, we are now in Hilton Head.

We went to church this morning and then to breakfast.
Karen, Mack and Rheagan went to play golf and Mike and I took Tripp to the beach and for a walk in the Preserve.

We took a short bike ride before we had sandwiches for supper and then an evening of jigsaw puzzles, movies, and hot chocolate chip cookies.

Pictures are not uploading!!!! And it is very frustrating!!

Here are some pictures from our last day together.

The Week in Review

This last week has found us involved in a variety of activities.

Rheagan's school chorus performed twice one day... once for the school and then in the evening for parents.

There was an elementary school basketball game...

After seeing Santa...

Rheagan and I went to see Anne of Green Gables.

The high school played their cross-town rival...

Rheagan missed her first home basketball game because she also had a basketball game and then she had a parent showcase at her dance studio.

Yesterday, Rheagan's Mimi ( her other Grandmother, Linda) hosted an annual gingerbread house party. The girls always have a great time and their houses get better each year.

Today I had our Christmas bridge luncheon. Someone brought a picture of the group taken in 1993. We have lost some and added some but it's still a great group of friends.

Recent Happenings

On Monday night we had a neighborhood December birthday party. We had wonderful food and great fellowship.

Yesterday 4 of us drove to Atlanta to help with Operation Christmas Child by working with the 100s of thousands of boxes that come into that distribution center. Our boxes were going to India, the Republic of Benin and Ghana. It is such a rewarding day and to know that our boxes have such an effect on so many children.
