Another Duck Dynasty Stop

As we headed back home we had the chance to see the grave for Sam Houston who played an important part in the history of both Tennessee and Texas.026

Then we stopped in West Monroe once again and since it was Sunday, they had moved the 18wheeler to the middle of the parking lot.033029034We were also able to get a picture of Haskell’s Donuts where Si won the donut eating contest.037036

Final Home Game for 2012

We drove from Lufkin to College Station for the A&M/Missouri football game and along the way we drove by the gym where Mike began his basketball referring career in 1967. The gym is still there!002 001

We tried to eat at Chicken Oil and have a hamburger and cheese fries, but there were over 70 people in line to order so we decided to leave! 004

The rest of our family arrived and we enjoyed the pre-game activities.011

We are in the stands before the game started.012We loved the game, especially since we won. As the evening wore on, we had to put on more layers, but they really weren’t enough…we were still cold.

The band preformed their famous crossing drill and then the block T with an A and an M.020023

An after the game shot of mother and son!025

If It’s Tuesday, it Must be Dallas

We had a wonderful Sunday in Waco visiting our former church.003

We arrived a little early and were able to take a picture of the sanctuary before SS was over.002

We got to visit with several friends,D.G.(Pat was not there; she was not feeling well) and David and Gayle.  Their new pastor if from Columbia, TN and a delightful young man.

The service was very enjoyable; we sang from the hymnal, had a child dedication, sang the Doxology, and has a sermon from their youth pastor. The Lord’s Supper was served at the front of the sanctuary.

After lunch we drove to our farm and by some of the rental houses.

We had hoped to visit with D but she was not feeling well; I dropped a gift on her front porch and ran, just in case her germs were coming under the front door!!

On Monday, we drove to Dallas and had lunch with my cousin M and her husband B. Enjoyed catching up with their boys and their lives.

Later we met some friends from our days in Japan, B and C.  The Mexican food that we enjoyed was nearly as good as the fellowship.  It’s been over 30 years since we have seen them and they really haven’t changed much at all.  We had to leave when the restaurant was closing!
