Time for Culture
Recently we returned for culture in Utah where we attend the Utah Shakespeare Festival. (our 23rd year!)
We started our journey by flying from Nashville to Las Vegas.
Of course, we had to eat a bite of breakfast before we boarded!
We met our friends J and D at baggage claim, got a car and found a place to eat! It was a change for us from In-n-Out Burger and was a great burger!
We then drove to Hoover Dam where we took the dam tour!
The new bridge across the Colorado River…
Just the facts…

Augusta, Here She Comes!
On Monday, R competed in the Georgia regional competition of Drive, Chip and Putt. She had qualified earlier this summer.
There were winners in each of the events…she was 3rd in Putting, 1st in Chipping and 1st in Driving. Then it was announced that she was the overall winner.
She is one of 11 girls in her age division across the country who will compete at the Masters on the Sunday before the Masters begins.

Rain, Sun and Fun
This morning we woke up to rain so after breakfast we went to Redbox for a couple of movies.
We watched one of them before lunch…
we had to improvise to cut the pizza…
It cleared off, so off to the beach we went…
it wasn’t long before a volleyball game got started.
Tripp got several good hits including serves.
the kids wanted to stay later than usual so they could play volleyball so we went to the Flying W Steakhouse for supper.
We came back to the condo and watched the other movie before going to bed.

Great Day at the Beach
Mike and I got up early and put the tent up! It’s finally time for a few days at the beach.
We enjoyed the balcony until the sleeping beauty woke up!( After a little encouragement!)
Then we ate breakfast, lathered up with sunscreen and headed for the big ones…only the waves were really just swells. But it’s still the beach and you can always have fun.
They joined a volleyball game…with R being the only girl.
T thinks that he may have a lost member of Duck Dynasty on his team!
We came back upstairs for our traditional beach lunch…
and before the afternoon was over, they had found another volleyball game.
Dinner was at Captain Anderson’s
We played Chicken Foot and watched TV
What gorgeous ringlets when you let your hair dry naturally and don’t brush it!

First Leg
The journey of 1500+ miles begins in the driveway!
It wasn’t long before there was a stop for a Roo cup refill…
and some Mickey D chicken nuggets.
North Carolina was our first, of many, state welcome centers.
We checked into the hotel and then it was time for supper…
They put on their bathing suits and headed for the pool, but they got in and out so quickly that there was no time for a picture!
The next morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and continued our journey.
It was an uneventful drive across SC to the coast and Charleston. We checked into the hotel and got ready to go to B’s wedding on Kiawah Island.
cute kids…
T and Hero…
It was a beautiful wedding in a beautiful setting.
