Catch Up

It has been awhile since I have posted on here, so I am going to try and do some catch up.

Earlier in March, we went to Texas to see family down there.  We saw P play baseball…

J run track…

and more baseball…

In between games and meets, we went to San Antonio for a few days.  The weather was cold, rainy and windy, so we mainly ate!

We had 2 great visits with dear friends…

When we were with family, we ate with them as well!

It was a great time to be with them.

It’s always hard to say ‘bye”… They are both growing up too quickly.

Back in TN, we have seen T play soccer…

and R play golf…

Spring has finally come to East Tennessee and we are so grateful.  It was a long, cold and wet winter.

Snow of 2014

Yesterday it started snowing and then it would rain and then it would snow and then it would rain. Late in the afternoon, the snow began to stick and by morning, we had around 8” at our house.  This is a lot for East Tennessee!!  I did not edit or do anything to these pictures…the blue in the last ones were just out of the camera.

We were out a little after 8:00 a.m. to see all of God’s beautiful handiwork.

The snow plow had come by in the wee hours of the morning, so Mike could take a walk down the hill.

After we came in and fixed breakfast, the sun came out and gave us even more beauty!

By mid-afternoon, the temperature had risen into the mid 40s and all of the snow in the trees was gone and the sidewalk and driveway were beginning to show themselves.

One Season to Another

T has finished playing basketball…

and started playing on a select soccer team…

R’s volleyball season has started…

We have finished another puzzle!

Snowy Tuesday

We got a unexpected snow storm today!  One of our cars is at the bottom of the hill…couldn’t make it up!

So here’s how we spent the morning…

finished a puzzle…

enjoyed a fire…

and drank hot chocolate!

The jigsaw puzzle is finished!  M and I really enjoyed working on it and are now looking for another one to do!

Back to Reality

 

Since we have been back home, it’s been pretty much normal routines for us.  Lee University has started for the spring semester but Mike is not there!  He decided last Fall that he was ready to re-retire!  So this semester he is not even teaching in the Encore Department.  It’s been too cold for him to play golf or work in the yard, but we have still gone to basketball games. We have seen T play twice this week…

and also the CHS teams.

We have started a  jigsaw puzzle that we got for Christmas.

Last Couple of Days

On Thursday, we had a wonderful breakfast at Skillets.

We decided that the puzzle was difficult and not fun to work on, so we boxed it up to share with someone who might enjoy the challenge.

Mike went for a bike ride and I went to the beach for a walk.

We snacked for supper and because the table was cleared of the puzzle, we were able to play several games of Chicken Foot.

Friday morning we cooked breakfast…

and because it was raining…

we went to the outlet mall for a little shopping.

We came back and tried to get in a bike ride while we could…

and got caught in a downpour!

We dried out and went to supper.  A return trip to the Boathouse was in order.

The bread was great…

and everyone loved their meal…

Back at the condo, we watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

On Saturday, we packed the cars…

headed home and drove through a major line of storms.  We stopped at Pappasito’s for Mexican food.

A wonderful trip but it’s always good to be home.
